↠ 3 cups basil
↠ juice of one lemon
↠ 1/4 cup olive oil
↠ 1/3 cup pine nuts
↠ 2 garlic cloves
↠ himalayan sea salt, to taste
Add all ingredients except olive oil to a food processor. Pulse until evenly chopped. Slowly add olive oil through the top of the processor and pulse until combined

Black bean and Corn Burgers by @cookingforpeanuts ❤️ A delicious recipe to try out for this week's meal prep! .
Smokey black bean + corn burger: In a food processor, pulse 1-1/2 cups black beans until partly mashed with some whole beans remaining. Boil 1 large corn on stovetop and remove kernels with sharp knife once cooked. (Even better if you can roast the corn over a gas burner.) Combine in a large bowl: mashed beans, corn kernels, 1 finely diced large red onion, 2 large handfuls baby spinach leaves (roughly chopped), 1/2 cup cilantro (chopped), 2 tbsp tahini, 2 tbsp coconut aminos or low-sodium tamari/soy sauce, juice 1 lime, 2 tsp smoked paprika, 1 tsp garlic powder, 2 tsp ground cumin, 1-2 tsp chili powder, salt+pepper to taste. Mix with hands (or spoon) and gradually add oat flour until sticky enough to form patties (no more than 1 cup). Use hands to make roughly 7 burger patties. They shouldn’t be too thick or they won’t cook as well. (Optional: brush surface of the patties with a little olive oil.) Bake on lined baking sheet at 375F about 25 minutes, flipping half way. (Or you can even air fry these at 400F about 15-20 minutes.)
Easy guacamole: mix together 3 very ripe avocados (mashed), juice 1 lime, 2 finely grated garlic cloves, salt to taste. Add sprinkle red chili flakes. Serve with sweet potato fries and enjoy! .

Kiwi & pear green smoothie 🌿✨
• 1 banana, sliced and frozen
• 1 pear, sliced and frozen
• 1 kiwi fruit, peeled and frozen
• 2 cups baby spinach
• 2 cups kale, stem removed
• 1 tbsp lime juice
• 1 tbsp hemp seeds
• 1/4 cup nondairy milk
• Add all ingredients into a high-speed blender. Blend until smooth. You may need to add more liquid depending on the power/speed of your blender. More liquid will make it thinner, less liquid will make it thicker!

This photo was in fact taken 2 years ago, whilst I was living in Siem Reap. Whilst there I fell into a pit of depression, I was so angry with the world and all I could focus on was the cruelty within it. I’d wake up each morning and watch animal cruelty videos and my mood for the day was so flat. Whilst living in Cambodia I returned to cooked foods after 2 years eating fully raw, I was numbing the pain I was suffering. Silly me being so honest went public and received so much abuse online It was insane. .
The abuse could of broken me, instead it help prune me right back to nothing and I started to analyze what I’d become and what I didn’t want to be. I saw my anger in them. .
I stopped watching animal cruelty and any cruelty within the world, I stopped lashing out, I started focusing on self love, self preservation and being the change I wanted to see in the world. I focused on what I could do in the world, rather than what I can’t change. .
Slowly but surely I returned to raw living and I became happy. Life still has its swings, but that’s life, I’m just no longer making myself miserable, hurt and angry. .
Everything happens for a reason in life, my experiences have helped to improve me as a person. .

Elderberry is the dark purple berry from the European elder tree. The berries are used to make medicine. Do not confuse elderberry with American Elder, Elderflower, or Dwarf Elder.
Some people take elderberry by mouth for the common cold, "the flu" (influenza), and H1N1 "swine" flu. It is also taken by mouth for HIV/AIDS and boosting the immune system. Elderberry is also taken by mouth for sinus pain, back and leg pain (sciatica), nerve pain (neuralgia), and chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS). Some people also take elderberry by mouth for hay fever (allergic rhinitis), cancer, as a laxative for constipation, to increase urine flow, and to cause sweating. It is also used for heart disease, high cholesterol, headache, toothache, and weight loss. Some people apply elderberry to the inside the mouth for gum inflammation.
Constipation. Drinking tea made from elderberry and other ingredients seems to increase the number of stools passed in people who are constipated. —
"The flu," also called influenza. A specific elderberry juice syrup seems to relieve flu symptoms and reduce the length of time the flu lasts when taken by mouth within 48 hours of the first symptoms. Taking elderberry lozenges within 24 hours of the first symptoms also seems to reduce flu symptoms. Relief seems to occur within 2 to 4 days of treatment for most people. Taking a product that contains elderberry juice and echinacea also seems to relieve symptoms and reduce the length of time flu lasts. It seems to work similar to the prescription drug oseltamivir (Tamiflu).
