Crazy steering wheel, right? It’s not a hackjob either. This is a factory wheel out of a Lutteral Comahue, an Argentinian-built car based on the IKA Torino coupe, once dubbed “the fastest car in Argentina.”
In its day the Torino saw some racing success, pestering cars like the Ford Falcon. Among those that raced it was an ambitious outfit from a dealers racing division, Lutteral Competition. At its helm, was Juan Carlos Lutteral who had a unique vision for the Torino inspired by their racing experience.
With imports being either restrictive or expensive, local creativity led the way for automotive passion in Argentina. Thus, in 1968 they launched a radical upgrade package dubbed the ‘Lutteral Comahue’ (think AMG or Brabus to Mercedes).
