MIBF book haul Part 7!
Wow, I can’t believe it’s already been a week since the day I went home from MIBF 2019 with a luggage full of books! I’ve been very busy with lifw and work, hence my late posts of my book haul. But this is the penultimate post in my MIBF2019 series, and it’s for my haul from National Book Store.
While browsing for books amongst the Sunday, last-minute crowd, I realized that if their discounts are also just 20%, why not just buy when they do sales on other dates? It would have been definitely easier and more relaxed. But the advantage of MIBF is that NBS usually has the copy of the book you’re looking for, while on regular sale periods, sometimes a branch will run out of copies of the book you want to buy. Still, I may have to think about it for next year. Or maybe just visit on weekdays when the crowd is less.
My fave from the haul is Stephen King’s latest book, as well as Tommy Orange’s There There, which I wanted to buy online a few months ago but due to a bug in the online order system, I was not able to pay for my order, and when I tried ordering the book again it’s been marked as sold out. ...
