Yesterday, we buried my dad. The number two person in my life. This feels like all that I’ve been holding in since this began, will be coming out in waves. We had the procession pass by the house, while playing his favorite type of music. Salsa. My wall began to crack. But still I couldn’t let it all out. I can’t. I know mom is looking to me for strength. She looks at my sister and I, to see how we are reacting. So difficult to continue this facade of keeping my emotions in check. I will take my space away from my family and let it all out. I feel a monster wave of emotions that will come. I feel like screaming and at the same time, drowning in my tears. This grief, as a friend told me, will have to be dealt with it alone. I thought about that for a second when I read it. She is right. It’s not a macho thing, it’s a state of emotions that simply has to be dealt with alone, so that when the flood gates of all this pent up grief open, they all come out. No holding back. So as my dad took his final ride, I ask you all, to cherish your parents. They gave us their all. In the best way they could, and in the only way they knew how. Don’t ever fault them if you felt they could of done better. They did the best they could, it was up to us, to take those teachings and emotions as a foundation to build on in life, then add our own colors to it. Love them, cherish them, tell them you love them every chance you get. A simple phone call, so they can hear your voice telling them you love them means allot. Be a good human. We all should carry a sense of humility in life. My pops lessons to me, I will carry for the rest of mine. I am and will be rudderless for a while. #dad #loss #parent #god #griefandloss #prayer #lossofalovedone #life #confused #pray #prayer #solace #mybestfriend #mymentor #peace #rip.

¡Maranatha! (el señor viene)”, (corintios, 16:22). ¡JESUS VIENE PRONTO!
