The Secret Behind Perfect Curls is .... .
Honestly, there isn’t really ONE.... sorry to disappoint 🙈 Some days my hair turns out AWESOME and other days it’s a ball of frizz and knots (usually when I go too long without washing it) HOWEVER ... Here are my BEST recommendations for treating your curls and the products I use:
1. DO NOT BRUSH CURLY HAIR WHEN ITS DRY- ouchhhhhh!!!! - If your kid is crying when you do this and you don’t get it bc you have straight hair - STAWP torturing her. .
2. Brush with conditioner in - some ppl may disagree but I brush my hair in the shower with conditioner in .
3. Start brushing from the bottom - unless of course you want the worst knots ever and to keep brushing for hours. - start with the bottom knots and work up .
4. I brush with a full brush not a comb - again, this is personal preference bc I don’t want to be brushing for 10 hours. Although I know others may say it’s better for curly hair to do a thing comb... I guess I’m a rebel .
5. Put Product in as soon as you get out of the Shower and SCRUNCH. .
I use @got 2b their gel and or hairspray in the yellow bottle. AVAILABLE AT: @walmartcanada and @shoppersdrugmartofficial . .
Typically a little less expensive at Walmart. Price ranges from $4.99 to $11.99 depending on the sale. .
I like a bit of that wet look, although my hair eats up the product really fast since it’s thick, that it rarely stays lookin wet but it does help prevent frizz and hold a beautiful curl .
Do you have a similar process? Do anything different? Got an epic product I should test? Let me know ! Always lookin for new tips, although this is my regular routine and it usually works pretty well ;) .
Hope you curly gals find something in here helpful!! And for you straight haired ones, well lucky you for always having perfect hair haha I envy the minimal amount of products you have to buy 😂

I haven’t posted anything in a while because I really just didn’t know what to say. I don’t want to be a vanity project. I don’t ever want to post words that I don’t believe in whole heartedly. But when I took this picture I remember being really happy. I think we ought to share those stories and moments more often, even if we aren’t sure we have the seemingly perfect thing to say... maybe even especially in those cases.
I remembered today a conversation I had with a paid friend (aka a very helpful therapist) about the fear of not being genuine. To which she said, to put your fears and desires out into the world, and still try to live your best life without fear of failure, well that is what truly living an authentic life is. I guess somewhere along the way I married that concept with the reminder to choose love over fear when we’re faced with uncertainty. Holy vulnerability. But usually worth the temporary discomfort and growing pains.
So what’s my point ... I guess that not always having the perfect feed or post or nugget to share in the blogosphere does not mean you have to be quiet. But I suppose I’d rather strive to be genuine and an ever evolving beam of imperfection than silent.
So hello. It’s nice to see you. I hope to reconnect with lots of you soon. You inspire me. If you actually read this I love you on some level. Here is a virtual hug *hug*
