All the summer goodies! Which one would you pick first? I’m definitely into cherries 🍒 the most (blueberries are a close second).
We are having a wonderful time in Chicago, despite the heat wave 😅 Thank you for all of your recommendations for things to do/eat! UDON & GYOZA • [ad - invite] My second visit to @udonandgyoza (which soon will be renamed as JABE, a combination of JApan 🇯🇵 + BErlin, as the extra friendly staff explained to us 🥰) with @eatingberliner was much better than the first one! @eatingberliner and I shared some Karaage 🍗, Yakiniku (~11€) and, of course, some Udon and Gyoza 🤪🍜🥟💕. The highlights for me were the Karaage (~5€) and the gyoza (~5€)! The chicken was really good, but the gyoza were 🤩. I liked the udon noodles (~8€) too, they were served just with egg 🍳, bonito flakes 🐟 and raddish. All the elements were good, although I find that the combination lacked some kind of flavor kick somewhat, it was kinda bland, but I liked a lot the consistency of the noodles themselves!! 😍 The beef Yakiniku (which consists of grilled meat, in this case beef 🥩) served on rice 🍚 with a poached egg) was nice, the meat could’ve been tenderer given the fact that is the protagonist of the dish but still it was yummy thanks to the seasoning. All in all it was a nice lunch 🍴👌🏻💕, one could feel that the ingredients used to make the dishes were of great quality. The waitress explained to us that they try to make the Japanese recipes with fresh local ingredients rather than importing the Japanese ones, which I think embodies perfectly the essence of the future JABE! That’s one of the reasons the dishes might not be exactly like the Japanese versions, but everyone working there is actually Japanese and the cook has more than 10 years of experience in Japan👨🏻🍳. #Berlin#Mitte ...
